Mike started Powerlifting around 1997. He’s been studying and creating ways to improve athletic training ever since.
From high school forward, Mike knew that the gym was his home. As a sophomore in high school, he set records in competitions in Kentucky and Indiana. Soon, the college competitionsâ€â€ÂÂÂÂthen the Open divisionsâ€â€ÂÂÂÂlearned the name Mike Tuchscherer. He was going to stick around lifting for quite a while.
Mike’s current list of giant wins includes:
In the World Games, which is organized by the IOC, International Olympic Committee, Mike also holds the honor of being the first American in history to take home the gold.
But Mike is not just a talented Powerlifter. He has studied sports training to an extensive degree as well.
With a mind sharpened at The United States Air Force Academy, Mike is highly capable of reading, understanding, and assimilating complex theories and concepts into training routines that lifters can grasp easily. Mike began developing his patented system of customized training while he was the "Cadet-In-Charge" of the Powerlifting team at the Air Force Academy. As a Cadet, he also interned with the Academy’s Strength and Conditioning Staff.
Even now, Mike always looks to hone his workout processes and assimilate the latest research into routines. His training experience is wide-rangingâ€â€ÂÂÂÂOlympic weightlifters, Strongman competitors, football players and track and field athletesâ€â€ÂÂÂÂbut he primarily trains Powerlifters. That doesn’t mean everyone, even general fitness enthusiasts who aren’t interested in competing, can’t learn from Mike’s mix of book smarts and real-world gym know-how.
The addition of Mike Tuchscherer only makes Team MusclePharm better. We’re happy he’s here.
